Next Sunday is the Fifth Sunday of lent. In our church it is sill referred to as Passion Sunday, a name now reserved for Palm Sunday in the R.C. Church. It is on Passion (5th) Sunday that we cover all crosses/crucifixes in the church. As we know, Christ has risen, body and all. Therefore, no physical grave exists for Christ. The closest thing we have to this is in fact the cross. So, just as many of us visit the graves of deceased loved ones, talking to them about life without them, life when they were alive, how they affected us with their life, etc. I would like all of you to do the same with the cross in church. While visiting church sometime before next Sunday, arrive early, about 20 minutes before mass and take time (after examining your conscience) to have a silent conversation with Christ while looking upon the crucifix.
